Warming up the Cold

Nothing warms up a cold winter day like Chili Mac n' Cheese.
 1/2 pound pasta (Cavatappi)
Leftover Chili
Shredded Pepper Jack Cheese

Dinner is done in less than 30 minutes.

  1. I LOVE how easy this is, La! My SIL makes a wonderful Chili Mac and I have often wanted her recipe. I'll definitely try this!

  2. My Mom mad what she called "Mexighetti." It wasn't always spaghetti, but the first time she did it it was, thus her name for it. It's similar to a Cincinnati Chili 3-Way.

It must be the pasta shape. While Mom's was a summer dish and the Cincinnati Chili is summer/fall, yours look SO warm and wintery filling! YUM! (even first thing in the morning!)

  3. I never understood the concept of combining chili and pasta until recently. I'm not a mid-westerner by birth, so it seemed really strange to combine the two dishes. But Skyline started growing on me- the husband and son kept telling me I should embrace the flavors.... And what do ya know? I kinda like it! Especially when topped with lots of onions!

  6. I need some of that right about now. The winds howling outside and I think our 50 degree weather isn't going to last long.

  10. I can smell that yummy dish right now. Those kinds of meals smell so good when it has been a long day and you come in from the cold. Yummy...have you ever tried homemade chili over mashed potatoes? My mom made that once and it was so good!

  12. Now why don't I ever think to buy Cavatappi pasta? I just don't SEE it & always reach for my old standbys.
This chili mac would be PERFECT for the cold, wet day we're having.

I was sorry to read about your Dad & all the other happenings at your house over the holidays, La. Hope everyone is doing better now.

    Hugs,

  16. I've used chili on spaghetti for Cincinnati style...but this sounds different and delicious! The pepper jack cheese must be fabulous on it!
