Family Nativity

Hello Friends.

Today I'd like to share our family Nativity. I have several Nativity sets, but this one is my very favorite.

My mother bought the Holy Family, the wise men, animals, and shepherd boy from Home Interiors many years ago.

My brother, Chuck and my dad built the manger. It's rustic and I love it very much.

I will be linking to Rhoda's Christmas Vignette Party at Southern Hospitality.

  1. Hello Lori,
the nativity set is very nice made. Nice faces and nice soft colors. Looks as if it is pocelain? And you made a nice manger, too. The nativity set is nut just decoration, it shows the really the important part of Christmas.

  2. Very pretty! I love that they build the manger! I have a big set and can't find a manger for it, so I may have to get creative too:@)

  4. Hello La, it is a lovely nativity set, but I like to have the baby Jesus there on Christmas day and not before, to remind us all that is the reason for Christmas Day, not the food, drink and presents, although that is a lovely part of a family Christmas too!!

  5. Absolutely beautiful. I remember as a child being so fascinated with our family's nativity. My grandkids love to move baby Jesus out of the manger! I love your black and white shot too. For a second there I thought you had painted the original!!

  6. Good morning La....I have an original that belonged to my parents when I was a little girl. I had my own and then passed it down to my DIL and son to have for their family. It's nice to have the memories attached to them, isn't it? Calling for snow on Saturday...hopefully it won't cause a problem driving to Marysville! Hope to see you there!~Hugs, Patti

  9. It is lovely...I really like the black and white photo. I have a large one, but since we moved here I haven't gotten it out. I don't have a safe place for it with the little grands around.
