Looking for Signs of Spring

Sunday, the sun was shining brightly and I decided to take my camera out to look for signs of spring.

The sky was bright blue with only a few wispy clouds.  The sunshine was deceiving because it was bitter cold, barely in the 30's.  Still, I set out in my backyard for signs.
My neighbor's daffodils were having none of it.  They were hanging their heads trying to shield themselves from the cold.
I did find a few buds on the Lilac bush at the back of our yard.

I was a bit disappointed at the lack of findings and fear it means we are still in for some winter weather.  Maybe I'll find more next weekend.

I will be linking this post to Outdoor Wednesdays.

  1. I haven't even gone around my yard here in NC. The daffodils are huge and beautiful but it's been too gray to take any photos. I'll try to check them out as soon as the sun comes out. I loved your photos too.

  2. My heart with pleasure fills and dances with the daffodils... Lori

  3. My daffodils are up, but I only see them from afar because it's so darn cold out there! Where is spring?

  4. Hi La! Oh, those little daffs will have their tiny heads up soon and everything will be budding out all over. It's been in the 70s here for a few weeks so we have lots of blooming going on.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  5. Hi La!

  9. Soon there will be all kinds of signs of's even been cool here in Southern California...and rainy too!

  10. The daffodils are sort of sad aren't they? Soon...we will all be complaining about how hot we are!

  11. It was warm here but the last couple of days....brrrr, but we still have lots blooming. The red buds are breaking out in color throughout the woods. Love it! Happy Spring

  12. Greetings from California :-)

I believe God put me on earth to accomplish a certain number of things and I will live until my work is finished. Visiting nice blogs like yours is high on my list. Right now I am so far behind I don't think I will ever die!
