Hello Friends!
Did you enjoy a spectacular summer this year? It has certainly been a summer of extremes:hot and humid in the east, rainy across the country's midsection, hot and arid in the southwest. The iffy weather didn't hamper our enthusiasm for the season though.
I spent my summer (and spring) doing lots of fun things.
I spent time at the beach...
Set a patriotic tablescape...
and tried new recipes.
I tried to grow a vegetable garden, which was a disaster, but planted flowers that thankfully flourished....
And enjoyed a Victorian tea with Makayla.
All in all it's been a wonderful summer and it seems too soon for it to end. BUT, the end of summer brings my favorite season, fall.
So how did you spend your summer?

The picture of the two of you at tea says a lot about your summer - perfect!
ReplyDeleteWe spent the summer at home, but the Island is a pretty good place to be in the summertime.
I hope that our Summer in the UK isn't over yet, hoping the weather will improve in September!! We have had a great Summer starting with my new grandson born in May and watching him change everytime I see him. You have certainly had a great time albeit the hurricane. Let the good weather last for a while and hopefully a lovely Autumn with wonderful colours.

It's been a damp summer over all, but there were many things to celebrate along the way.
ReplyDeleteYour tea for two looks delightful.
Fun pics La, love the flowers! I'm with you, fall is my favorite season:@)
ReplyDeleteI got to know my grandchildren so much better by taking care of them 5 days a week...lol....We had a great summer.
ReplyDeleteHello La,
ReplyDelete<our mosaics show all the features of summer. Great work! Thank you for hosting this wonderful event, it is a great idea. I made a post, especially for you. I hope, we have many more warm and sunny days until winter arrives. A quote says: Fall has also nice days!
Best greetings, Johanna
It has been a strange summer of weather extremes depending on what part of the country you're in, but all in all, I had a good time on my "staycation" and was able to deal with 105 degree temps, heavy rains, an earthquake, and category 1 hurricane. Looking forward to my favorite season coming up! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to cooler weather... sure has seemed hotter than some here!

It's not over yet, LA. A few more weeks at least to enjoy the beach and the best weather!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, mine is a Hurricane Party as we just got our power back.
I almost didn't come, it was such a busy time afterwards to clean up and catch up , but I hate to miss a party!
Thanks for inviting me!
Oh, I hate to see the summer end! It is always so sad (even though the heat gets to be too much). Looks like your summer was tons of fun. Ours too.
ReplyDeleteKinda sad summer is coming to an end. However, I am ready for some cooler temps and some lovely cinnamon and apple smells. Your summer looked great La!
ReplyDeleteYour summer looks wonderful, La! It went by quickly didn't it?
ReplyDeleteG'morn ~ Oh, how sweet Makayla & you having a tea party. You sure were busy ... looks like your summer was filled with lots of fun, relaxation & beauty.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful weekend.

This is my first time visiting your blog and I'm having so much fun reading through your posts! Here where I live, it's still HOT and I'm so ready for summer to be over. Bring on Fall!
ReplyDeleteSounds like your summer was filled with lots of fun times!
ReplyDeleteHi La,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for inviting me to join your party, I have done so and will check out what others have done. It looks like you had a fun summer.
Hugs, Cindy
I'm not sure how I spent my summer, it seems to have gone by so fast! I think the extreme heat kept us from doing things we usually do. Fall is also my favorite season, I just wish it would last all year! We are back up to 100 degrees today and tomorrow. I don't think summer is nearly over for us!
ReplyDeleteI linked up my cinnamon bread. Thanks so much for letting me know about your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to see Summer go.

What a fun summer wrap up post! Fall is my favorite season too...although this summer went a little too fast for me! Are those stuffed jalapenos I see wrapped in bacon?! And what girl doesn't enjoy a little tea party for lunch...so cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the tea photo! I had a whirl of a summer, especially enjoyed BlogHer in San Diego and a wonderful wedding in Vermont last month.
ReplyDeleteHey La, I'm holding on to summer with both hands. While I love the beautiful colors and cool weather of fall I know all to well what follows. Have a great holiday week-end!
ReplyDeleteHi La, Looks like you did a lot of fun things this summer! I too had a great summer. In fact, I have a great life. I am so blessed.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Beth
