Tis the last rose of summer,
Left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions
Are faded and gone.

- Thomas Moore, The Last Rose of Summer, 1830

  1. Hi La, *Sniff, Sniff* Oh no!!! Let is not be so..."Tis the last Rose of Summer"...

    *hugs & petals"

  2. Hi La, What a lovely photo. There is something sad yet beautiful about the last rose of summer isn't there. There was a song called the Last Rose Of Summer my Mum used to sing to me when I was little. It was lovely I must see if I can track it down. Jane xx

  3. There's no such thing as a last summer rose in Southern California...we have them year around.

  4. You're right...I think we've turned that corner here...

  5. I had to pull up some of the garden today....sad. But...cocoa and marshmallows coming up!

  6. So roses are still in bloom, summer isn't over yet!
