Resolution Poll Results

Hello Friends!

The Resolution Poll has closed and we had 31 people participate. Sixteen percent of you voted NOT to make a New Year's Resolution. Of those who said they would, 48% are resolved to lose weight. That's not really very surprising considering the bountiful feasting we do from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day. It has a way of making our clothes shrink, doesn't it.

I'm so excited to see coming in a close second was the desire to learn something new in 2011. Many of you indicated you were going to take some photography lessons, which means we are all in for some fantastic eye candy in the coming year.

Here's how each category ranked:

1) 48% (15) Lose weight/exercise
2) 45% (14) Learn something new
3) 29% (9) Save more money
4) 19% (6) Spend more time with loved ones
5) 12% (4) Other....I wonder what...
6) 9% (3) Post more often
7) 3% (1) Quit smoking/drinking

To the person who will quit smoking and/or drinking, I wish you all the luck in the world. I hope you will keep me apprised privately of your progress. I know this is a difficult task, but it is worth the effort.

What did I resolve to do in 2011?

I LOVE CHRISTMAS COOKIES! So, I am back on Weight Watchers. I also want to save some money in 2011...through thrifty shopping of course. Those are two goals I am always working toward, but I do have two new goals that I am going to work toward achieving in 2011.

To make the best of each day, no matter what.

To learn something, visit somewhere,
or experience something new each month.

  1. I will be eating only fruits and veggies for lunch. Maybe a hard boiled egg here or there with cheddar cheese chunks. Hope that helps on my weight plans.

  2. I have heard that WW has a new program recently. I have been very successful with WW in the past. I am thinking about doing it again. Good luck!~Patti

  3. Great results of the poll. Don and I are eating low carb and I hope to cook my way through a 1983 Cooking Light Cookbook. Have a great day.

  4. Interesting ,but will we keep them or just feel guilty if we don't?

  5. I wish you and everyone the best of luck with all the new years resolutions. I have had the flu since Friday and resolutions havn't even crossed my mind yet lol.... Have a great week!

  6. Losing Weight and learning to cook better is at the top of my New Year's resolution list.

  7. one way I save $$$ is CVS...have you ever been to you can get so much free stuff by following what she does at CVS!!!!! thats one of my goals in the new year is to get back to CVSing...and coupon shopping!
I didnt make resolutions but I set goals!
    Happy New Year!

  8. That was a neat poll! Sorry I didn't get to participate in time! I love seeing statistics though and this is great! I would be in the loose weighht, learn something new, and other categories for sure!

  9. Those are great goals, La! Thanks for always being such a steady reader on my blog. I appreciate it oh so much! Have a spectacular week!

  10. La,
It is awesome to visit with you. I liked the info you gathered on this poll. I have some goals but, I will keep them to myself. LOL Always striving to do better, that's for sure.

  11. Very interesting. I'm glad the losing weight was high on the means we care about ourselves. I'll bet it was for health purposes and not just to look good {although that helps!}. Great poll!

  12. Great poll. I voted. Oh, I ate way too much this holiday. I stayed Gluten-free but made some bad choices.
It's back to work tomorrow......not sure that I amready. Hope you have a good week.

  13. Happy New Year, La!! Oh, resolutions! I've enjoyed seeing your poll results. I do want to make better use of my time this year and eat a bit more healthy. Other than that, I'll just be me.
Be a sweetie and thanks for popping in to see my little headers,
    shelia ;)

  14. Hello La,
nice to hear that I am not the only one with a weight problem. I wish everybody luck with their resulotion (an me, too).
