Is it Spring Yet?

It was still winter when I awoke this morning. There's snow on the ground, and an Arctic air mass is sitting over the Ohio River Valley. Thankfully, the sun is shining and sky is a beautiful deep blue.

This is just the beginning of winter and try as I might, I just can't seem to embrace it. Yes, it is pretty when you can sit inside and just look at it. How many of us have that luxury?

Donnie has the right idea. She is a snowbird from North Carolina and she flies south for the winter...OK, she and Don drive, but you get what I am saying.

I long for spring with it's warm breezes, afternoon thunderstorms, budding flowers and rainbows.

As you can see on my sidebar, I am counting down the days until sweet spring returns. Until then, I will continue to TRY to embrace winter.

MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!

  2. Just think, if you lived where it was warm all the time then you wouldn't get to experience to great feeling of Spring Fever. Or would it just be Spring Fever all year long?

  3. How lovely, Spring is definately around the corner. We had sunshine all weekend here in England and the birds were singing their hearts out.

  4. That's what makes Spring so special...the anticipation of it and then it's actual arrival after a long, cold, snowy winter! Meanwhile, we EMBRACE!~ Hugs, Patti

  5. Hang in there La. It could be worse ~ we could live in the snow belt further north along the lake.

  7. We are fortunate that we can be in Florida and miss out on that lovely white stuff but spring means I'll be back up around the grandchildren. I'm looking forward to spring too. Thanks for mentioning me La. You stay safe and warm.

  8. I don't think I mind winter much...first of all I am used to it. And I enjoy all 4 seasons. Just as you are getting tired of one, it changes! This is my time to hibernate!

  9. I'm in S.E. Michigan. I know exactly what you mean. It seems that, after the holidays are over, I'm ready for winter to be over, too! I start making gardening plans around now. And this year I have a little something more to look forward to - my toddler will be able to help me dig in the dirt this year. Hurry up spring!!!

  12. I did not enjoy the oppressive heat and humidity of this past summer so the winter chill actually feels refreshing. The two feet of snow we received after Christmas is something I could have lived without, however, so if we get another foot with this upcoming storm, as it is presently predicted, I'll be ready to take a trip somewhere warm for a few day just to thaw out!
My daughter is going to Disneyworld for a long weekend with friends. I raised a smart girl!

I hate summer humidity and it hates me, but I'm looking forward to camping this year. Actually I'm REALLY looking forward to spring and the arrival of my Granddaughter Charlotte and your great niece!!

  17. You guys have gotten a lot more snow than us so far. We only have about 4 inches...but it's absolutely freezing. I dream of living somewhere warmer...but for now, I am trying to enjoy the quietness of this time of year...catch up on something inside the house and enjoy the warmness inside with my family. That's what I'm working on...somedays easier than others! :)

  18. I have hijacked a friends computer so that I can get caught up on all my bog reading/writing and you were my first stop! I like the new banner a the top and background by the way. I can not complain about the weather here in CA right now, we went from turtle necks to tank tops over the last few days and I'm enjoying the short warm up. I grew up in snow, so I have a secret place in my heart for a good snow fall but that wont happen where I'm at any time soon. Hope you enjoy it while you can nd that Spring comes soon for you.
