Thrifting Addiction

HELP! Call Dr. Drew, call Dr. Phil...I am addicted to thrifting.

More and more I find myself refusing to pay what department stores want for items I like. My first thought is, "I'll bet I can find something similar at an auction, yard sale, or thrift shop". So far, I have been lucky enough to find similar items.

This week, I found:

A mirror at a consignment shop $5.00

A pewter mirrored sconce $4.10

A wire stand at auction $2.00

The watering can I used in my
Bathroom Makeover $.99 at Goodwill

A pillow for my upcoming bedroom makeover
at a garage sale for $2.00

This corner shelving unit for $20
at a consignment shop. It needs some
paint, but it is perfect for my sun room.

Not a bad week's work.

I will be linking to blog parties hosted by:

  1. Hi La! I am addicted, too! I now find myself saying...I don't want to go to Homegoods...everything there is new! lol You found some great stuff! Love that mirror! Happy week!...hugs...Debbie

  2. Oh my goodness you made a haul and some fabulous prices at that! I’m with ya......way over paying full price for anything. I have a list of items I’m on the hunt for and have been lucky enough to find several of them during my thrifting extravaganzas.

    Happy Monday to ya!

  5. It is an addiction...I need a 12 step program! I love that little black metal would be perfect for a couple of plants. The corner stand is great, too.

  6. I posted recently that I would not seek help for my addiction! It's the thrill that keeps me goin' LOL! Like your metal stand and mirror. Paint is truly a girl's best friend. Visiting from Rhoda's.

  7. I had to stop over when I saw the shelving unit. I have 2 additional pieces from the same set. Wall shelves and a corner shelf - both thrifted of course, the wall shelving never used, in original box! Now that I know there is more...
There was a time when I couldn't set foot in a retail store. I was afraid I would openly and loudly scoff at those ridiculous prices.
Now when I "shop" with friends they never ask if I want to go to Boston Store or even Target or Walmart.

  8. Those were nice finds, that sconce is so pretty.

  9. Now I have no idea what I would do with that little wire stand, but I love it!!! Have fun!

  10. That 5.00 mirror is amazing. Great finds.

  11. Ha we could all use help!!~ I am sorry if this week my parties are confusing...I recently started a Before and after party every other garage salen party still goes on during the weekends though every can leave the link up though no biggie...but if you have any Before and after projects that would be great!

  12. Great finds! You have been busy for sure.

  13. I love my addiction. Why would you want to pay retail when you can buy used and get such quality and character! Love you finds!

  14. Great finds, I am addicted also, I hate when i can't find something at a yard sale, antique store etc. I need a shower curtain liner and I am afraid I am going to have to buy one! ha!

I stopped over from Debbie Doo's
